From concept to finished product, I thrive on solving artistic problems. Resolving conflicts between vision and materials excites me. As an artist, I begin with a concept in my mind’s eye. Then, I work through the challenges of the material to a finished work that pleases me. I know it when I get there. Watercolour, clay and glass all involve an element of surrendering control to the medium. Each time I open the kiln, or see my watercolour when dry, it is a thrill to see my vision brought to life. Pigments, clay and glass have been made from base earth elements for thousands of years.
